When someone has mistreated you, hurt your feelings, or has wronged you - the best thing to do is forgive. Don’t wait an hour, a day, a month or even years . . . but ask God to put forgiveness in your heart -  immediately.  The longer you harbor unforgiveness in your heart the more miserable you will be! But even worse - if you don’t forgive - you will lose all happiness on this earth - and in the earth to come - because you won’t be there. Jesus said in Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” It doesn’t get clearer than that! Sometimes, the pain of injustice is so great, that it is not humanly possible to forgive - much less love that person. Yet the Bible says in Luke 6:27,36, “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. . . ” You see, God wants you to love your fellow man - and not just those who are nice to you! He wants you to “love” your enemies too! So how can you possibly forgive when you’ve been hurt so deeply? The answer is - by asking God to put ‘love’ in your heart and then, love them with “God’s love!” Yes, you ‘can’ have the courage to forgive by claiming God’s promise in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” for God will give you the strength to forgive, forget, and move on with Jesus!  Follow this advice in Colossians 3:13, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Proverbs 24:17-20 KJV - Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil [man]; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Matthew 5:43-48 KJV - Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Romans 12:20 KJV - Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

1 Peter 3:9 KJV - Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
